The B-Side Roots/Routes:We Are Making A Film About Mark Fisher

DE
Jahrhunderts analysierte.

EN
The late British cultural theorist Mark Fisher is regarded as one of the most influential thinkers of our time. He became best known as the author of *Capitalist Realism*, in which he analysed the creative, political and social crises of the 21st century. As part of the B-Side series, the film We Are Making A Film About Mark Fisher by Sophie Mellor and Simon Poulter is being screened in Switzerland for the first time. The film was made without a budget, studio funding or institutional approvals. It centres on solidarity, collaborative work and digital networking. The film realises what Fisher believed to be possible: decapitalised cultural production and the capacity for collective action amidst the ruins of neoliberal isolation. And so it serves as a reminder that DIY does not mean ‘private’, but rather ‘creating something together’.
